The pigtorial chronicle of the life of the 3 lil' pigs
Heute hat der liebe Opa Geburtstag.
Today my brave little niece turns 6!
Mama Pig has been contemplating on cutting Lil Piglet's hair for a long time. Fearing that Midori might develop a lazy eye from the constant blocking of her right eye by her long bangs, Mama Pig put Midori on her high chair, bribed her with a piece of biscuit before snipping some 6 cm off Midori's bangs...... a tad too much.
We didn't watch the circus because the kids are just too young to sit through a 2-hour show. However we still had fun just watching and feeding the camels.
Given that today is also Academy Awards 2009, the Oscar goes to..... (drum rolls).......MM for the following awards:
Our Chinese friend, A, invited Mama Pig and Golden Piglet to her place for dinner tonight. Our Japanese friend, Y, was also there with her cutie pie, A, aka Midori's best friend.
A made Jiaozhi and mini spring rolls and they were really yummy. It was the first time that Midori tasted these 2 Chinese specialties and our greedy Piglet totally loved them.
Since it was only 2 days to Chinese New Year, I made tangyuan, glutinous rice balls in syrup, for dessert. The pink ones had peanut filling whereas the blue and green ones were just plain sticky rice balls.
In my family, we always make colorful tangyuan. I have fond childhood memories of me and my younger brother happily helping our mom make colorful tangyuan in all sorts of colors and shapes, much to our mom's frustration and amusement. Oh, how I miss my family during this time of the year.
It has stopped snowing for a couple of days now, but the temperature remains below zero so the snow is still everywhere, much to my delight.
Too bad our Golden Piglet wasn't enjoying herself as much as Mama Pig and Papa Pig because her tiny hands and feet were freezing the sub-zero temperature and the harsh wind blowing on her cheeks made it worse. Thus we had to leave earlier despite the fun.
11.01 is a very special day for my family, because a stork delivered an angel to the Lee family some XX years ago. From that very day onwards, this lucky baby has brought our Papa and Mama lots of luck and continues to enrich everyone in the family with unconditional love, silly laughter and unwavering support even at her own expense. Yes, our precious BB has an enormous heart and a self-sacrificing nature.
BB is a filial daughter, the best any parent could wish for.
